AWSDA's Membership

Since establishment in 1990 AWSDA has been undergoing tremendous growth! AWSDA started in Lindenhurst, Long Island, New York and has expanded the membership to reach the entire United States, Canada (from Nova Scotia to British Columbia), China, Japan, Spain, Puerto Rico, Australia and Russia. AWSDA is able to reach countless numbers of women and continues to grow because of an effective and dynamic approach toward woman self defense.

AWSDA is composed of hundreds of members. These are the men and women interested in furthering the awareness of female self-defense. AWSDA members are dedicated to giving Free Rape Prevention Courses, empowering women to protect themselves, changing women's lives for the better, giving free classes to crime victims, developing support groups for abused/victimized women, and overall to make our planet a safer place for all people to co-exist!

AWSDA members automatically receive a subscription to the highly acclaimed and informative newsletter "The Fisted Rose". The quarterly newsletter informs readers of training organizations, upcoming events, corporate sponsorship promotions, and includes various self-defense related articles. Members also receive discounts on the annual hands-on and lecture training seminar. Moreover, AWSDA allows members to take an active role in their organization by offering committee and regional representative openings.

AWSDA hosts an annual training seminar, which is always jam-packed with a variety of topics, from lecture to hands-on to live fire firearms training. Classes are geared for all levels, from beginner to instructor. Each class is 2-hours long and with the many classes to choose from, you can custom design your seminar experience based on your needs, and the needs of your students. In addition, the very first day is AWSDA's 8-hour Rape Prevention Instructor's Certification Class, free to those who are participating in the full 3-days of the seminar, including those teaching at the seminar.
